About:After bifurcation of the State, the Mahatma Jyothiba Phule Telangana Backward Classes Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society has been established in July, 2014 vide G. O. Ms. No. 1, BC Welfare (B) Department, dated 14-07-2014 with an aim to provide quality education to the children belonging to Backward Classes and other communities.
Mahatma Jyothiba Phule Telengana Backward Classes Welfare Residential Degree College is the first and exclusive college established for the purpose of providing quality higher education to women of backward classes and other minorities. The college is located on a 10 acre campus in Wargal, Siddipet district in the lap of nature and is well connected through Siddipet highway to various parts of the state. The college is affiliated to Osmania University and follows choice based credit system. The college provides qualitative education through its strong, well-qualified and trained group of 27 regular faculty and 7 guest faculty. The college was initially started with only seven UG programs under the three courses viz Arts, Science and Commerce gradually adding new programs such as Bio-technology, Bio-Chemistry, English Literature, Data Science, and Computer Accounting along with increase in student intake. In a short span of seven years the college has managed to establish itself as a center of quality education together with excellent coaching for competitive exams. The college has spacious and well ventilated classrooms, spacious dinning hall and student dormitories. The college also takes pride in well maintained and upgraded science labs, computer labs with internet connection, a rich library with reading room, modern gym and sports room. The college has students led Maths Club, Sports Club, Cultural Club and other activities. The college has an active placement cell and alumni club that caters to the needs of passing out students.
The college has an internal audit, IQAC committee that keeps a strict vigil on the best teaching practices. The college logo Learn to Lead is a guiding principle for the students with every students given an equal opportunity to exhibit leadership skills. The MJPT BC Welfare Education Institutions Society provides students with a pair of uniform, a track suit, a pair of sports shoe, a carpet, a complete set of note books, a complete set of examination stationary and a wrist watch during the three years of their studies.
The college maintains its own vegetable garden to meet the needs of its kitchen. The college menu is designed keeping in mind the growing needs of young women and includes a healthy spread of sprouts, fresh poultry, fresh fruits and vegetables and healthy snacks.
